Tarte à la Rhubarbe


1. Premade Puff Pastry Sheet Dough – Pepperidge Farm brand

2. 6-7 rhubarb sticks and 2 large apples, peeled, cored and sliced into chunks

3. 1/2 cup white sugar

4. 200ml water

5. 3 eggs

6. 2 1/2 tablespoon butter


1. Peel and cut rhubarb into pieces. Cook in saucepan with sugar and water for 15 minutes.

2. Roll out dough and put into pie tin or dish. Prepare by puncturing holes and pre-cook for a few minutes about 350 Degrees

3. Take rhubarb from casserole upon being cooked and put it into precooked dough pan. Top pie with apple slices before covering with dough topping. Cook at 350 for 25 minutes

Meringue Instructions

Whisk 3 egg whites until fluffy and white. Take pie out of oven when finished cooking and brush the egg whites over the pie. Put back in oven for 10 minutes.

Make sugar available for pie slices upon serving and it is a good idea to accompany pie with Vanilla Ice Cream!
