Ms. Doron’s Italian Stuffed Tomatoes

• 8-10 large tomatoes
• cooked white rice
• garlic
• fresh basil leaves
• Italian parsley
• salt
• pepper
• olive oil
• Italian bread crumbs
• chopped ground beef
• grated Parmesan cheese
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Wash and cut the tops of the tomatoes off.
2. In a bowl, mix the ground beef, olive oil, basil, onions, parsley, salt, and pepper.
3. In a skillet, cook the chopped meat mixture.
4. Scoop out the center of the tomatoes and coarsely chop them.
5. Mix the chopped tomatoes, grated cheese, bread crumbs, beef, rice, garlic, parsley, fresh basil, olive oil, salt and pepper.
6. Set the tomatoes in a large baking dish. Spoon the mixture into the tomatoes and drizzle with olive oil. Bake until the tomatoes are soft (30 min. or so).
7. When tomatoes are just about cooked, place provolone cheese on top of each tomato to melt.
8. Enjoy!!
