Medieval Whole Wheat Bread

  • 3 cups of whole wheat flour
  • 11/2 teaspoon of yeast
  • ½ cup warm water
  • 1 Tablespoon of sugar

 

  1. Pour the warm water in a large bowl
  2. Add the sugar
  3. Add the yeast and stir
  4. Let it sit for 10-15 minutes
  5. Add the wheat flour
  6. Stir with a wooden spoon

 

  1. If the dough is too dry, add a little bit of water
  2. Then mix it with your hands

  1. If the dough sticks put dry flour around it
  2. Oil the inside of a large bowl, and put in the dough
  3. Preheat the oven to 425 ° F.
  4. After approx. two hours, when the dough is risen, shape it, design it, and put in the oven
  5. Bake it for approx. 25 minutes
