Jem’s, Jeanine’s, and Netra’s Chocolate Caramel Brownies

• 1 package devil’s food or chocolate cake mix
• 1 stick butter melted
• 1 cup undiluted Carnation evaporated milk divided
• 35 light caramels
• 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels

1. Preheat oven to 350ᵒ F.
2. Pour cake mix in a large bowl.
3. Stir in butter.
4. Stir in 1/2 cup evaporated milk (batter will be thick).
5. Spread half of batter in greased 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
6. Bake for 15 minutes

7. Combine caramels and remaining evaporated milk in a small saucepan.
8. Cook over low heat stirring until caramels are melted.
9. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over baked layer.

10. Drizzle melted caramels over chocolate morsels, carefully spreading to cover chocolate layer.

11. Drop remaining half of batter in heaping teaspoons over caramel mixture.

12. Bake 20 to 25 minutes.
13. Cool completely before cutting.
