Meat and Mashed Potato Pie


  • 2/3 Lbs potatoes
  • 1 Lb extra lean ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • fresh parsley
  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • salt
  • pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Parmesan


  1. Cook the potatoes
  2. Cook the ground beef
  3. In the meantime cut the onion in very small slices and put aside
  4. Peel the garlic cloves, smash them and put aside
  5. Finely chop the fresh parsley and put aside
  6. Drain the beef when cooked and put aside in a bowl
  7. Heat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  8. In the bowl with the beef: add the egg, the onion, the parsley, salt, pepper, and mix.
  9. Mash the potatoes when cooked stirring in the milk, the butter, salt, pepper, garlic, and nutmeg
  10. Butter a baking dish
  11. Spoon half of the mashed potatoes all over on the bottom of the dish
  12. Spread the meat on top the potatoes
  13. Spoon the rest of the mashed potatoes on top of the meat
  14. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese
  15. It should be ready when lightly brown on the top
  16. Enjoy!
  17. Add a green salad with Italian seasoning
