Gâteau trempé à l’orange

Serves 8

· 4 eggs

· 1/2 cup sugar

· pinch of salt

· 4 oranges

· 1 cup butter

· 1 yeast packet

· 2 cups flour

· 1/2 cup sugar for the syrup

1. Beat the eggs with the 1/2 cup of sugar

2. Add the salt, zest of 3 oranges, juice of one orange, and the melted butter and mix again

3. Add the flour and the yeast diluted in warm water

4. Pour the dough in a round cake tin and bake at 350 degrees for approx. 30 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean

5. In a saucepan: pour the juice of the 3 oranges left and the 1/2 cup of sugar

6. Cook at low heat mixing until you get a liquid syrup

7. Take the cake out when cooked and puncture everywhere the top with a fork

8. Pour the warm syrup on top of the cake

9. Serve with cold cream
