Funnel Cakes, by the Cooking Class 2016

Ingredients:

2 cups vegetable oil
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
1 – 1/4 cups flour
2 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Powdered cane sugar for dusting
Vanilla ice-cream for topping

 Heat oil in a cast iron skillet over medium high heat
 Combine egg and milk in a medium bowl
 Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in another bowl
 Slowly stir those dry ingredients into the egg and milk mixture
 Spoon the batter into a large plastic bag with a tip cut off.
 Pipe batter into the hot oil making a squiggly design, and working from the center out.

 Fry for two minutes on each side

 Remove from oil onto paper towels to drain
 Sprinkle powdered sugar over the funnel cake
 Top it with ice-cream if you like
