Corn Bread by Shiela, Gianna, Savina, and Erin


Cooking spray to grease pan
1/2 stick butter
1 cup milk
1 large egg
1 1/4 cups cornmeal
1 cup flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt


1. Heat the oven to 400ᵒF.
2. Spray the bottom and sides of an 8-inch square pan with cooking spray.
3. Melt the butter.
4. In a large bowl, beat the melted butter, milk and egg with a whisk or a fork until well mixed.
5. Add the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix.
6. Pour batter into the pan; use a rubber spatula to scrape batter from bowl.
7. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Serve warm
