Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

· 1 whole egg
· ¼ cup water
· ½ cup butter softened
· ½ cup shortening
· ½ cup brown sugar
· 1 package chocolate fudge cake mix
· 2 cups oats
· 1 package semisweet chocolate chips
· 1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Beat egg, water, butter, shortening, brown sugar, and ½ the cake mix until smooth. Stir in remaining cake mix, then oats, chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by the teaspoonful about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven, place onto cooling rack till cool.
