It started ten years ago during summer school at Eldorado Emerson, when the students have cooking class for 1-2 hours starting 6th grade and up. Over the years, families and friends came to cook and share recipes and tips with the students. This class was to teach children the importance of cooking nutritional and healthy yet delicious meals. With the supervision of a few teachers, this class allows for students to learn cooking first-hand, giving them the experience with food and techniques to help exercise their minds. Cooking is not only just a fun activity but almost like a medicine for some. It helps students that suffer from ADD or ADHD keep busy while learning and allows for students and teachers to bond over their culinary successes. This awesome summer workshop is available every summer at Eldorado Emerson School, up to 10 students. Recipes found here are an original compilation by Corinne Madelmont, her friends, family and students.
