Butterscotch Brownies

· 2 cups flour
· 2 tsp. Vanilla
· 1 tsp. Baking powder
· 2 eggs
· ½ tsp. Salt
· 1 ½ cups chopped nuts (optional)
· 2/3 cup butter, softened
· 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)
· 1 ½ cups brown sugar, firmly packed

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt onto wax paper.

3. Beat butter, brown sugar, and vanilla in large bowl until fluffy.

4. Beat in eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

5. Stir in flour mixture until well blended. Mix in nuts, if desired.

6. Spread mixture evenly in well-greased pan. Sprinkle chips evenly over top, and press in slightly. Bake for 30 minutes or until done.
