Bakery Style Baguette

Bread (baguette) Recipe like at the Baker’s
4 cups flour
2 cups water
2 packages of yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
Step 1:
In a big plastic bowl, mix the salt, sugar with the flour. Put a little bit of warm water in a small bowl, and add the yeast. Pour the rest of the water little by little on the flour while you knead. Add the yeast. Continue kneading until you obtain flexible dough that doesn’t stick to your fingers. If it sticks too much, add a little bit of flour. You get now a big ball of dough.
Cover the bowl with a damp towel. Let the dough rise for 3 to 4 hours in a not too cold or warm place.
Step 3:
Split the big ball in same size smaller balls. Knead again each ball for the air to get out.
Step 4:
In a basket lay a dry and a floured towel. Place the balls in the basket. Let rise for approx. 2 hours.
Step 5:
Stretch out each ball to make a small baguette. Let the baguettes rise more for 15 minutes.
Step 6:
With a knife trace a couple of strokes on top of each baguette.
Cook the baguettes in the oven (375-400 degrees) for 20-30 minutes.
Step 7:
Attention: the bread is very hot and fragile when it is just taken out of the oven. Wait a little. You can eat it like that, or with butter, or jam, or nutella.
