Audrey Pons’ Marble Cake


1 cup unsalted butter

2/3 cup sugar

3 eggs

1 1/2 cup flour

1 teaspoon vanilla

8 Tablespoons Ghirardelli semi-sweet cocoa powder

1 packet yeast

Heat the oven at 350 degrees F.

Butter a rectangular 9 x 13 in pan

Mix the soften butter with the sugar until thickened.

Separate the eggs white from the yellow and beat the white until firm

Add the eggs yellow to the butter/sugar and mix

Add the flour

Add the yeast (mix the yeast in warm water)

Incorporate the eggs white

Divide the dough:

1/3 = add the vanilla

2/3 = add the cocoa powder

Pour in the pan and cook for 40 minutes
